Download Tandil Theme

Another improvement is the options panel. The URLs were “sanitized” to avoid undesirable characters to display in the output. It may sound too technical, I know. Basically it’s to comply with the latest wordpress version security demands.

As always, you contact me if you need support.

The recent release of wordpress 2.9 triggered a bug in certain versions of the PHP’s curl extension. With these versions of curl, scheduled posts and pingbacks are not processed correctly. To fix this specific bug as well as a handful of other, lesser issues, we are quickly releasing version 2.9.1, the first maintenance release of the 2.9 line.

Help us get 2.9.1 ready to go by testing 2.9.1 Beta 1. The easiest way to test Beta 1 is to install the WordPress Beta Tester plugin, elect to get on the point release development track, and then perform an automatic upgrade via the Tools -> Upgrade menu in your dashboard. You can also download the Beta 1 package and install manually. Fourteen tickets have been fixed in 2.9.1 Beta 1. Since the curl problem and a couple of other problems are dependent on specific hosting configurations, any and all testing help is greatly appreciated.

It is strongly recommended that you backup your WordPress database at regular intervals and before an upgrade. Creating backups of your blog is very easy. You can do it directly from your WordPress Dashboard. You know you should do it regularly, but usually other activities get in the middle and you just forget about it.

The consequences of not backing up your blog are much more serious than you can imagine. If there is any problem with your server or your site’s hard disk fails, or your website get hacked, you will lose extremely valuable data. Although you can have an automatic backup service included in your hosting plan, many times they don’t save MySQL databases. So, to make sure you save your data, you can do the backup manually.

Personally, I try to backup all my websites weekly. Below you will find a quick checklist for backing up your blog. Just follow these simple steps to backup and save the XML file that will include all your database information. If you have any problems in the future and your blog articles are lost or deleted by mistake, the data can be imported using this XML file and recover all the posts, articles, pages, categories and the rest of your Blog’s information:

Login into your WordPress Dashboard.

Go to “Tools” –> “Export”.

In “Options” –> “Restrict Author” select “All Authors”

Click on ”Download Export File” and you are done.

Now you can save all your XML files inside a folder on your desktop.
